# Changelog

Changes to the Vcheck API, newest first.

Additive changes don’t bump the version; breaking changes ship as a new major version in the path.

## Platform API v2: Monitoring, Background Check and Common Endpoints

One API across products, under `/v2`, with OAuth 2.0 client credentials. Place orders, manage subjects, and get results by polling or by webhook.

* **Monitoring.** Enroll subjects, manage groups and participants, retrieve and action alerts, and turn monitoring on or off.
* **Background Check.** Submit orders, track subjects, and retrieve reports and findings.
* **Common Endpoints.** Look up the products, subjects and groups on your account in one place.
* **Pull or push.** Poll for results at any time, or register a webhook (HMAC-SHA256, Bearer Token or Header API Key).
* **Scopes by method.** `-read` for `GET`, `-read-write` for everything else.

```bash
curl -X POST https://api-platform.vcheckglobal.net/v2/oauth2/token \
  -H 'Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded' \
  -d 'grant_type=client_credentials&client_id=YOUR_CLIENT_ID&client_secret=YOUR_CLIENT_SECRET&scope=api-platform/monitoring-read-write'
```

Available at `https://api-platform.vcheckglobal.net/v2`. OpenAPI spec 5.4.0.

## ID Verification API v1

The first release of the ID Verification API: submit identity verification requests from your own platform, and trigger them automatically from Greenhouse.

* **Two endpoints.** `POST /auth` issues a token; `POST /investigation-request` submits a request.
* **Greenhouse integration.** ID verification starts automatically when a candidate is hired, over a webhook signed by Greenhouse.
* **Limits.** 5 requests per second per key; HTTPS only.

Available at `https://api-platform.vcheckglobal.net`.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.vcheckglobal.com/changelog/readme.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
